Islamic Financial Planner™ (IFP®) programme is a joint collaboration between Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM). The IFP® mark is jointly-owned by FPAM and IBFIM. The IFP® is a training and certification programme designed especially for professionals and executives serving the retail segment of the Islamic financial market. This programme is a collaboration between the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM).
The IFP® program covers the major components of financial planning with the Islamic aspects being comprehensively integrated into each of the IFP® modules.

Yes, Emzek Academy is the learning center for IFP and the IFP® qualification is recognised by the SC for Capital Market Services Representative’s License for financial planning and by BNM for Financial Adviser’s Representative license. The SIDC has also approved the IFP as a CPE-recognised professional qualification.
A financial planner as defined by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) as per Schedule 2 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 is a person who analyzes the financial circumstances of another person and provides a plan to meet that other person’s financial needs and objectives.
Islamic financial planner is a financial planner capable of meeting the financial needs of clients in conformity with Shariah.
Being certified as an Islamic Financial Planner™ will equip the Unit Trust consultants and Takaful agents with all the necessary knowledge to serve clients better and become financial advisory professionals. The IFP® program sets the competency standards and ethical practices of the professionals. In short, the consultants and agents can look forward to a fulfilling and prosperous career of being Islamic financial planners. Also, BNM via a letter dated 1 Aug 2007 has endorsed IFP® Modules 1 and 2 for Takaful executives and agents.

IFP® Full-Fledged Program requires 7 days for Module 1, 9 days for Module 2, 8 days for Module 3, and 4 days for Module 4. While Challenge Status (CS) requires 6 days. A candidate can be certified as an IFP® only after passing the M4 exam or the CS exams. The examinations are conducted at the end of each module. Candidates are required to register for the exams. Kindly check with Emzek for the exact dates.
Module 1 to 3 consists of 75 Multiple Choice Questions to be completed in 3 hours.
Module 4 and Challenge Status) CS) comprises 2 Papers. Paper 1 is a 75 Multiple Choice Questions to be completed in 3 hours and Paper 2 is an essay styled Case Study Question Paper to be completed in 5 Hours.
Examinations shall be conducted by IBFIM.
To be certified as Islamic Financial Planner™, the candidate is responsible for program fees and exam fees. For Full-Fledged, the program fees for the 4 modules are RM6,800 and exam fees RM1,600 (RM400 for each module). While for Challenge Status, the program fees are RM2,100 and exam fees RM400.
Emzek provides an easy payment scheme for the program fees and rebate if the candidate chooses to pay in a lump sum at the beginning of the program.
EPF has approved the application for the IFP® certification program to be listed under its approved professional courses. The application shall be done through FPAM.
Yes, the IFP® program is an Islamic finance course to produce Islamic financial planning professionals recognised by the Securities Commission and BNM. The fees paid are tax-deductible under relief
If you need to re-sit an exam, you are required to register for the next examination and pay only the exam fees. However, if you wish to attend any of the classes, please check with Emzek.
IBFIM and FPAM have every intention to promote the IFP program internationally. Currently, countries like Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia have recognised IFP Program.
